Meet the TeamDayton Aviation Services is a flexible Part 61 flight school and aircraft rental home at Moraine Airpark (I73), the closest airport to downtown Dayton.
About Dayton Aviation
Dayton Aviation Services exists for people who want flying to become part of their actual life, not just a someday idea. From a first discovery flight to aircraft rental, flight reviews, endorsements, and advanced training, the goal is simple: help pilots keep learning and keep flying.
We are based at Moraine Airpark, close to downtown Dayton, where the airport setting feels connected to the city's aviation heritage. Around here, training is personal, practical, and built around the pilot sitting in the left seat.
Why Pilots Choose Us
Recognized as an AOPA Flight Training Magazine Distinguished Flight School, Dayton Aviation is known for skilled instruction, well-supported students, and a training experience built around real pilot growth.
Train from historic Moraine Airpark, with a paved runway, parallel grass strip, and a local aviation setting tied to Dayton's earliest flying stories.
Our Part 61 format lets us shape lessons around your schedule, goals, and learning style instead of forcing every pilot through the same script.
Start with a first lesson, continue toward a certificate, or rent after training without a club-style dues model getting in the way.
Welcome Dayton Aviation
Meet the Dayton Aviation way of training: hands-on, local, steady, and always pointed toward the next good flight.
Our Values
Our mission is to make flight training approachable without making it casual about the things that matter. We customize the path, support the pilot, and keep the joy of flying in view.
Flying should feel serious in the right places and joyful in the right places. We keep both in the cockpit.
Students, renters, gift buyers, and longtime pilots all belong in the schoolhouse conversation.
Founder Rich Cox brings CFII, MEI, and A&P credentials plus professional instruction experience that began in 2001.
